Your data

It lives on your own devices, and syncs between them through your own iCloud if you ask. That is the entire policy, and there is no small print under it.

The module library reading 31 of 31 modules on, grouped into Plan and Body, each module a card with a switch, a pin and a description, and Planner, Habits and Shared marked always on.
Every module in one list, with a switch beside nearly all of them.

What you get

No account, no server

Nothing to sign into, nothing to go down, nothing to change its terms on a Tuesday. There is no server here, so there is nothing to breach.

Sync keeps what you already have

Turning it on uploads the months already on your device. Turning it off leaves every word where it is. Sync is the one paid part of Cadence, and everything on one device is free.

Export whenever

Settings, then Data, then Export. One JSON file with everything you have typed, yours to keep somewhere else. Read it back in and it adds what is missing without deleting anything.

Clearing takes a backup first

It runs before anything is deleted, and it abandons the whole operation if that backup fails. There is no undo, so this is the net under it.

Photographs are the one exception: the export does not carry them yet, which is on the list.

Asked about Your data

What does Your data cover in Cadence?

It lives on your own devices, and syncs between them through your own iCloud if you ask. That is the entire policy, and there is no small print under it. It draws on the Shared, Progress Pictures modules, each of which has a page of its own.

Is Your data on the iPhone as well as the Mac?

Yes. Cadence is one app on both, laid out again for a screen you hold in one hand, and iCloud sync for $14.99, paid once, keeps the two holding the same data.

Does it need an account?

No. There is no account, no server and no sign-up. Everything is kept on the device you typed it into, and exports to one JSON file from Settings whenever you like.
