One person, no company

Cadence is written by Gjorge Karakabakov, for people who keep track of things and got tired of nine apps doing it.

What Cadence is

Cadence is a free life tracker for the Mac and the iPhone: notes, habits, a day planner, trips, recipes and twenty-five more modules in one native app, with a switch beside each so five or six is a normal way to use it. It is one app on both platforms rather than two products, and one purchase covers the pair.

Who makes it

One person. There is no company behind Cadence, no team, no ticket queue and no phone number. There is gorgekara@gmail.com, which gets read and answered, and karakabakov.com.

Why it is free

Everything on one device is yours for nothing: every module, every screen and the export that gets your data back out, with no trial clock. The one thing you can buy is iCloud sync across your devices, $14.99 paid once, because keeping two devices in step is the part that took the work. Charging monthly for your own notes would be renting them back to you.

Why there is no account

Because there is no server. What you type is written to the device you typed it into, and goes nowhere else until you switch on iCloud sync, and then it goes to your own iCloud and stops there. The app has no analytics, no telemetry and no third-party SDKs, which is the whole of the privacy policy in one sentence.

How it is built

Native, on Apple's own frameworks, for macOS 15 or later and iOS 18 or later. Thirty modules run on three shared engines, which is how one app carries the lot in about 37 MB. The screenshots on this site are rendered from the running app with demo data loaded, so every streak and count in them is real output.

Where it is

On the App Store, for the Mac and the iPhone, version 1.0 as of August 2026. What has changed is in the changelog, including the bits that took three attempts.

Keep track of your own things, on your own machine.
